INJEST. to release material
INJEST has been jamming at a special studio in the Bay Area and working on new material there. Thanks to the ever increasing lyrical prolificacy of drummer and principal songwriter Nick, the quartet — now boasting an impressive surplus of powerviolence material intend to record their new record. Mr. Nick had this to say about the lyrics of INJEST.: "When I'm writing a song, (or songs) there obviously has to be a subject. I tend to think of myself as being better with the lyrics than with musical composition. If someone I cannot conveniently or feasably remove from my life pisses me off, there will be a song about it. Without a doubt. A couple, maybe a few perhaps. If I know someone, but I don't like them and still have to talk to them, that fucker will be on the album for sure. There are also lots of songs about society in general. If you're a stranger in public and you piss me off, you'll get a line, maybe a verse. There's NO way in HELL you will get the real estate of a whole song by INJEST. Fuck you. It takes handfuls of idiots to get a chorus. Either way — point is, you end up on an INJEST. album, you done fucked up, and I can't help you at this point. As for the nature of the lyrics I (usually) tend not to write politically as with me things are more personal. Politics is hit or miss, so you kind of have to shoehorn that subject matter in there without being overly reactionary. People are emotional and so is INJEST., albeit very angrily. At the end of the day if anyone decides to have a beef with me because of the songs, I really do have that shoehorn — two long metal ones as matter of fact. Hi yah motherfuckers."
The new album is set to be released in 2025.
